This term our topic has been all about Traditional Tales. We have had such fun reading different texts in Literacy. Ask us which is our favourite! Come and have a read of our stories that we have planned and written. What is your favourite traditional tale?

We have designed and made our own castles or dragons in class using recycled materials. Come and look at them in class, they are all different shapes and sizes. We've learnt some more map reading skills by finding where some castles are near where we live and also talked about how the weather differs around the world.

This term we have also had 'World Book Day', this gave us the chance to dress as our favourite characters. Mrs Beech, Mrs Riley, Mrs Sykes and Mrs Robertson dressed as characters from 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. Later in the term we planted seeds with Mrs Riley and watched how they grew!

Our WOW day was amazing. We all travelled to Sundown Adventure Land and had a fabulous day playing in various play areas, listening to stories, exploring miniature villages and towns, travelling with Robin Hood, riding in barrels and so much more! Have a look at our 'Photo Wall' in class or in our 'A Year in the Life of Year 1' to see what else we have been learning about.
